Social Profile :

The Cat Cafe is Southern California’s first cat cafe. We feature adoptable cats from The Rescue House. In addition to our cats, The Cat Cafe seeks to highlight other local small businesses. That’s why our coffee and espresso comes from the award winning San Diego roaster Cafe Virtuoso. You’ll also find cookies from The Cravory, pastries from Bread & Cie, and sandwiches and snack packs from Sunshine & Orange. We’re open daily from 9 AM to 4 PM and we limit the number of people interacting with the cats to 12 to alleviate congestion in the cat playpen. Unlike many cat cafes, your admission fee includes a food or drink item. We’re close to San Diego landmarks like the Convention Center, Petco Park, and the Gaslamp Quarter.

Coffee & pastry shop serves drinks & light fare amid a host of adoptable cats.

Love that this place offers coffee with cats for adoption.

The guy in charge of letting people in is unprofessional and rude.

Short wait to get in, enjoyed an iced coffee while I waited.

This is hands down one of the best cat cafes I’ve ever been to. The owner is really chill and takes great care of the cats. The cafe is always clean and bright and welcoming. Their new location is fabulous. And the cats are (almost) all adoptable! What more could you ask for?

We met a sweet little silver tabby at the Cat Cafe that we just knew had to come home with us. The cafe was clean, odorless and full of toys and perches to help cats up for adoption come out where people can observe and play with them. The staff and volunteers are so nice. If you fall in love with a cat while visiting, ask for an application while you’re still there, or you’ll have to return for one – there are no applications online to download. The Cafe partners with The Rescue House, who helps all kinds of cats find assistance, healthcare and fosters until the right person comes along. Between the Cafe, Rescue House and the fosters, you’ll get all the info you need to welcome your little buddy home as soon as possible.

It’s such a pleasant experience. I went during covid, and they’re making sure they’re able to safely run the cat cafe. Making a reservation, especially now, is definitely highly recommended, because you may not be able to come in for a visit without a reservation in place. It’s absolutely adorable. That’s saying a lot, since I’m not a huge fan of cats in the first place, but I felt very comfortable.
