My grandfather had a small portrait of an Indian girl he purchased in the late ’40’s in New Mexico – beautiful painting by the artist with the last name Moon. Over the years, it had hung on one of my parent’s walls and when my father passed, I got it. It had seen many moves since then and was a little banged up – the painting itself, had a small but noticible chip and the frame was pretty banged up. I took it into the shop where Carole Wilson checked it out. She was most impressed with the small piece and said she could completely restore it.When I went to pick it up, I was astonished at how beautiful that little girl was and how beautiful the whole piece was. The chip had disappeared, the colors in the portrait were amazing and the frame, while holding the old patina, looked perfect.Carole said that it was common with family pictures like this with what were seemingly unremarkable items to have family fight over ownership. Well, when I showed the piece to my mother, she asked for it back. I was bothered at first but realized that the picture was in fact, hers (I’ll get it back someday…) but now I get to enjoy it at her house.Carole did an amazing job of cleaning and restoring this beautiful portrait and was most reasonable with the cost. I highly recommend this shop and Carole Wilson.
