Recently moved and had to register our cars and get new licenses. It’s not been a smooth process – due mostly to us not being able to find all the right documents, although the websites aren’t the easiest to navigate, and there are a lot of steps in this process. Staff have been great, very helpful – maybe it’s because we look confused, lol! The waits haven’t been long, they reviewed our documents, let us know what was missing – yes, we had to return multiple times but I sort of expected that so I wasn’t bothered by it and I brought a book to keep me busy. DMV employees probably deal with a lot of upset people, I’m not trying to make their day more difficult by being petulant and I like going early, before they’ve become too stressed out and I make sure I don’t have other errands, that way I’m not stressed out if it takes a long time. I remember my manners and keep my voice calm, smile, and ask questions – what am I missing?, do I have to wait in line again? is there a list of acceptable documents?, why don’t you accept this document? can you explain that to me? – understanding that they have reasons for doing what they do really helps me stay calm, after all, they have to follow their regulations and they’re not trying to make my life more difficult on purpose. It doesn’t hurt to ask the universe for patience either. Good Luck!

They don’t know what they are doing. They have had me come back twice, and they said I had to “wait” again. A waste of time.
