… seals were south for breeding. Few stay behind. But, it was enough for us. They’re so cut. A few shops are a MUST hit when there. My crystal store and the Lefty store! ❤

Always nice to get out and walk the Pier. Enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. Nice to see the Pier coming back to life after this Covid crisis. People becoming more confident about getting out again. Shops were busy and the entertainment was lively. Had to stop at Chowders to get some delicious Red Clam Chowder soup in a sourdough bread bowl, amazing as always!

Perhaps this is the most popular open-air shopping center, was built next to the old Fisherman’s Wharf in the San Francisco Historic District in 1978. But the popularity of this place came only in 1989 due to the appearance of sea lions in the bay, which now come here, lazily lying on their small wooden islands :)Pier 39 consists of two floors, on which there are a huge number of cafes and restaurants, shops with clothes (here you can buy knitted children’s hats of cartoon characters), souvenir shops and fun entertainment venues: an aquarium, a maze of mirrors, a 7d attraction and a cool two-story carousel. At the end of the pier there is an observation deck with beautiful views of the famous Golden Gate Bridge, the artificial Treasure Island and the Alcatraz prison Island, where you can go on a tour directly from the pier on a yacht. From the cons: on Pier 39, we could not find a single vegan cafe, except for benches with fruits and berries, there will be nothing for lovers of healthy food to eat there. The problem with parking, even during the day it is very difficult to find a free place, we decided to leave the car 10 minutes on foot from Pier 39.

Certainly a very heavy tourist location. There’s a little something for everyone though. Boat tours, views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, and the sea lions were cool too. If you don’t like crowds I would avoid this place at all costs. But if you don’t mind it and want to get some good eats and get the full experience make the trip.
