I don’t know what has happened to Neiman Marcus’ customer service in the past few years, but it is truly garbage. I went in to buy a perfume which seemed like a fairly quick and straightforward activity. The perfume I wanted was out of stock, but the sales associate I worked with was nice enough to order it to be delivered to me via overnight shipping, so I paid for it in store and went home, not expecting things would go so awry. I received “my” delivery from FedEx, I open it, and lo and behold it is not the item I ordered. I contacted customer service so that I might receive the item that I paid for, and was given the run around through transferring me to different departments. I was first transferred to speak to an employee who told me I would have to pay for my item a second time to place an order for the item I already paid for, and she was “generous” (joke) enough to knock 10% off the price. I then spoke to another employee, named Judy, who was truly one of the rudest people I’ve spoken to in my life. As I was trying to explain my situation and desired resolution (I just wanted to receive the item I ordered and return the one that was mistakenly sent) she spoke over me or interrupted me the entire time. She took my phone number and hung up without calling me back. No one ever apologized, not that it’s a big deal, but it’s very telling of how they treat their customers. So now I’ve gone through this whole ordeal just because I made the mistake of wanting to purchase a single perfume.
