I came here in 2014 with my husband, we were traveling out of state to catch the ferry that docks at the Haines Habor. We came here for lunch, we were greeted with immense hospitality from not only the staff but the local towns people. When arriving a local held the door open for us to walk in and even asked how our day was going! It was so sweet! The atmosphere is cozy, feels like home or a good friends dining room. The food is INCREDIBLE to say the least. The soups are made from scratch, the best I’ve EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Hands down. They also serve beautiful deserts/pastries. The coffee too? Oh my god, it is delicious. We ended up stayed I’d say two hours just chatting and ordering more food. It was probably the best experience I’ve had in Haines. The people are so sweet, the food is amazing, the atmosphere of this quaint little cafe is just out of this world. I always tell my friends about this experience, and to tell them; please visit Haines, AK and check out the Mountain Market & Cafe!

Great breakfasts and sandwiches, very friendly staff (seems family run), and a crazy selection of healthy/local/vegan options. While I never look for any of those three things, I found a few things that caught my eye.They also roast their own coffee in-house, which is also amazing.
