Attended a sales event which I spent more time waiting in line than shopping.

I rarely post negative reviews, everyone has off days and I’d rather focus on the positive. I’m making an exception here due to the blatant false/illegal advertising on the RayBan site, and the complete absence of care or response from RayBan.I was looking to buy a pair of Mickey Mouse RayBan glasses for my wife’s birthday. I found the pair I wanted, and as I was on the page a popup window appeared which stated that specific model was eligible for a 25% discount (screen shot attached). After clicking on the popup you are required to give your email and establish an account, which I did. I then received a discount code via email. When I attempted to use the code it was not valid. I tried to reach RayBan through their customer service chat. After waiting online for over 3 hours I got through, only to be told that the discount did not apply to Disney glasses. Support acknowledged the popup ad, but just continued to say they were not eligible, and I needed to call another support number to talk to anyone else. I did, and after waiting another hour on hold I talked to support, and was told again that the glasses were not eligible due to their licensing agreement with Disney, and that this is explained in the terms and conditions. However, the pop states the opposite, and does not mention any possible exclusions. Support finally said their manager wanted to see my screen shots of the ad, as they did not believe they were real, to pleases send them in and they would see what they could do. I emailed the shots and an explanation, after 2 weeks have heard nothing except an email that said they will not be responding to emails because they are to busy,I know this is long winded, and I normally would not spend this time on a $40 discount. However, their actions constitute false and possibly illegal advertising, and their refusal to honor the advertised discount, their lack of care or concern and the lack of response has inspired me to spread this message as widely as possible.

I’m not really a review guy, as you can probably tell. I think I’ve posted maybe only 1 or 2 just as a courtesy for friends, but this is hands down probably one of the worst customer service/shipping/quality of product experiences I’ve ever had–and on such a small piece of material.Placed the order Dec. 2. Seemed easy enough. Was for a friend’s bday present at a party on the 5th (we’re all big Jack Nicholson fans, so the Ray-Ban gift made sense) and they do overnight shipping on the order, so I thought no big deal. I immediately noticed my apartment number had not carried over from the billing to the shipping for use same address in the order verification email they sent, so I sent an email to Ray-Ban’s customer service link enclosed, asking them to add it. Easy enough. Or not. There’s no response from Ray-Ban until 3 days later, Dec. 5th. And to boot, the package wasn’t even attempted to be delivered as scheduled on the 4th.On the 5th, the email response from Ray-Ban is a short, Please contact us regarding this matter with their number and the same email I’ve been messaging them to. I have UPS Choice, so I corrected the address through their site instead, because at this point, the birthday is the night they decided to finally write back, and I’ve got no more clock time to waste on it (and with a 3 day later customer service reply, no telling how long I would’ve been on hold with their phone lines). It’s raining cats and dogs on the 5th, and the UPS driver decides to not even approach my door a little after 4 pm and just slaps a sticker above the mailboxes (10 feet from my door) with the Sorry We Missed You (which I’m told they’ll do sometimes if there’s only 1 chance at delivery before it goes to a Pick-Up Location). I’d stayed home all day waiting on this dang package, but the best part is the giant green post-it note failsafe with my name, address, entitled in giant sharpie TO UPS: that was a half a foot away from the sorry we missed you sticker he left. Have a great photo of those. Now I’m on the phone with UPS and they’re saying the driver claims he tried (he did not. I was 5 feet from the door). I told them the situation, so they contact him to try to send him back out and took my number saying they’d call me either way. No call. No sunglasses for present. Showed up empty handed to one of my best friends of 15 year’s party. Nice. Tried calling Ray-Ban’s customer service. Got through to no one. So I emailed them again.Cut to today, December 6th. UPS says they’re sending package back out so I don’t have to drive to a pickup location. How nice. Inconsequential at this point, but nice. I sign the note on the back and leave it in the exact spot it was left as per UPS instructions on it to have the driver leave it there without signature when he returns just in case. I stay home a second day in a row thinking I’ll run them over to my friend’s place when they come. I get an email alert saying the driver tried to deliver them. I sprint outside, there’s not a UPS truck in sight on my street. I get on the phone with UPS and within 30 minutes, the driver is at my door with the package.Open it up to see what all the fuss was about, and this brand new pair of Ray-Bans that were 167 dollars and hell to get, have a scratch on the inside of the left lens (see attached photos), which I’m obviously not going to gift to someone. 2 things here: As of this review, Ray-Ban customer service has still not replied back to me. And item second, whereas Ray-Ban’s site says they offer free returns, I cringe at the thought of what the process could be of sending them back and then probably waiting a month on a refund. I’ll probably just drawer them. I will say they are really cool glasses. All of theirs are. But the juice was not worth the squeeze here. From a company with this many years of longevity, I found the entire experience unremarkable.

Wear your own pair of sunglasses and compare what would it be like to put on a pair from Luxottica Group! Yes stay in your own shades for awhile and you’ll understand how to truly appreciate this place as it is modern too! The recent open family and friends fair is a hit for all too and the security is top notch!
