Since Musicians Outlet closed, Guitar Center is basically the only game in town these days, unless you mail order. Their selection is decent and they are lenient with returns. Unfortunately they are a bit on the pricey side, and your experience will vary widely depending on which staff member you talk to. Some are knowledgeable and helpful, and some couldn’t care less if you stepped in front of a bus. 🙂 My advice is if you’re getting poor treatment from a staff member, just go find someone else!

I haven’t been in here in a few years, but when I did go, the employees were knowledgeable and helped set me up with my first electric guitar. At no point did they even try up-selling me, which is something I appreciate in these circumstances.
