Great place to visit, but bring food and drinks.

Plenty of people working, but clueless about how to run a restaurant.

I really enjoyed my visit to Fort Ticonderoga. The programs/tours that they had throughout the day were interesting and fun. I’ve been to many historic forts. I liked all of them but this one was really great. The tour guides were enthusiastic and friendly. I learned a lot about the role that the Fort had during the French and Indian War and Revolutionary War.

We have long wanted to visit this place and it was worth the wait. This is a well preserved fort, loaded with historical artifacts, staffed by knowledgeable people who obviously have a passion for the eras when the fort made history. The demonstrations and parades were impressive and informative. The exhibits were interesting and varied. Walking around the buildings and grounds, one can easily feel the lasting deeds of Montcalm, Allen, Knox, and so many others. This place is perfect for people of all ages. Everyone seemed to be having a great time, can’t recommend it enough. Our only regret is that we had just a few hours to take it all in.

Ft Ticonderoga was great! Activities include tours of the fort led by costumed guides, a museum with artifacts, boat rides , a restored 20th century European style garden , and a scenic tour at the mount of the nearby Mt Defiance. The king’s gardens was a big surprise with a vegetable garden in the front and a gorgeous flower garden within restored stone walls with statues. Additionally the fort has a large gift shop. Everyday costumed guides lead live music and cannon fire as well.
