I recently started taking Doce Pares classes at the Filipino Martial Arts Academy of Yuba City. I really enjoy the classes here as they specialize in weapons, specifically stick and knife. The concepts will translate to unarmed combat as well, but Doce Pares will give you the skills needed when weapons get involved. The classes are taught by very friendly instructors in a safe environment and you’ll get a pretty good workout. Parking is easy and at this convenient location. Try a couple of lessons, you’ll quickly gain some comfort with sticks and knives, a great skill to have, even if you already have other martial arts training.
