While I was driving down San Pablo Avenue, I noticed East Bay Nursery on the corner. There was room in their parking lot, so, I decided to park and check them out. The next thing that I noticed was the wonderful murals that are painted on some of the outside walls. They also have a security guard. Out front, there are large watering troughs that could be used creatively for more than watering livestock.EBN is neat and in order. Everything looks in it’s place. It is also much bigger than it looks from the street. When you enter, you enter a specific way (and exit a different way—good for Covid prevention). Everyone needs to wear a mask. They have an outside structure that is covered, and has rows and rows of vegetable and herb starts. They have an outside uncovered area with trees that are in season, and outdoor plants. Everything is labeled so you can easily identify what you are looking at.Inside the room where you make your purchases, besides having indoor plants, there are tools, ceramic pots, and humming bird feeders. They are closed Sunday, and Monday. Also, if it raining—call to make sure they are open.

Nice place with great items and customer service, however the prices are about 3 x what similar stores charge. If you do not mind overpaying for the same items in most other stores, then shop here.I give them kudos though for carrying Week’s Rose’s and Felco pruners. Those two items in my book do classify them as a better nursery. For the record, I did buy a few things from them even though they are overpriced because I do like the layout of the nursery, selection, and customer service.

Great selection, helpful and knowledgeable staff who are always around if you’ve got a question or need assistance moving a heavy purchase. Only 4 stars because the prices seem high, but the plants are all a really good quality so they do not seem like crazy overpriced, just maybe 25% higher than what I’d expect (this may also be pandemic induced price raising because demand went up as everyone became an indoor gardener)I love every plant and pottery purchase I’ve ever made here!Closed Sundays which bums me out because I can’t get there on weekdays because of work, but Saturday morning when they first open isn’t too much of a rush and is when I try to go.
