I have been here several times and each time has been about the same. The atmosphere of this store is very uptight and unwelcoming. During my trip today we were not greeted or acknowledged at all and had to wait a few minutes to even be checked out even though the employees were around. I’m a lifelong horse lover but have just started regularly riding and I need gear. Since Dover is the only English tack shop around here I have no choice but I really wish to not return and do all my shopping online. I feel very judged and I know I’m not the only customer to feel this way. It’s unfortunate that the known pretentiousness of the sport is even in a tack store! The staff needs some serious improvement before I feel like I can come back and actually be helped, acknowledged and not made to feel uncomfortable shopping.

Staff were helpful, polite and respectful, store stocked with seemingly just about everything for horse riding, regardless of whether you’re doing so competitively or casually. My only possible complaint would be the smell; don’t know if it was just me, but all the polish, leather, and chemicals they carry radiate various foul odors, so be prepared for that. I definitely see myself returning, though; it’s a proper saddlery location.
