Review Summary

Josh Matson
I brought my 2002 Lincoln LS to Blevins Garage to have the steering fixed. I needed ball joints and tie rod ends. Over the phone I was told it would take about a day to get it done and was quoted 1100 to 1200 to fix Everything up front. The parts took a week to come in and the car was ready to go the day after the parts came; so far so good. The first problem was with the price, the quote was wrong and now it was going to cost $1,560+. I agreed because Lincoln parts are expensive and I needed my car back. So I go pay and pick up my car. To get from the shop to my house is only two stops before I go in a straight line down a highway until I’m home. That means I would only need to use my brakes twice, but I rolled the first stop sign and the light was green when I made the second turn. I did touch my brakes and I thought I felt it grind slightly. So I made a note to buy pads the next day and do my brakes. I took my son to school the next morning and the first time I braked it sounded like the pad had fallen out and I was piston to disc. I did off my wee one and carefully drive home because Blevins doesn’t open until 9 or 10 sometimes; I wasn’t sitting for two hours. I take my wheel off and pull the caliper up to find that my inner brake pad was installed BACKWARDS. I took it back to him after installing new pads because my rotor was destroyed. Mr Blevins, the owner, personally reimbursed me for my pads and also replaced the rotor with a new one for free. When he did that I was ready to give a five star review. Until I went to put the other new pads on the side I hadn’t installed yet.. I still have the same broken tie rods. My ultimate evaluation is that he is a good guy but a bad business to take your car too. I’m hesitant to take it back to get my tie rods in fear of something else being done wrong causing even more damage. Two stars.-Josh.
