I have been getting my hair done for 20 years and never have I been so dissatisfied with my hair! I was in tears and that is not an exaggeration. On top of that I had to go to a job shadow/interview two days later and had to find some way to hide the monstrosity that not only was I charged way too much for, but she tried to charge me an extra $100 on top of it when I went back trying to get it fixed! The pictures I am including are 3 I showed her of what I wanted, 1 of the hair that I came in with, 1 of the process the first time I went in there as well as the results immediately after (total of 6), 1 picture of the middle of the process when I was there to get it fixed, 4 pictures of the final result and 2 pictures of the results after I paid another stylist to fix it. The first time was not bad but it wasn’t what I wanted and the rose gold/pink color washed out in a week when I only washed it twice. I understand that color doesn’t stay in very long, but after I went someplace else to get it fixed the pink that she put in lasted a lot longer and I did the same things that I did after I went to Alter Image. I am not saying that the other stylists there aren’t good, I have no personal experience with them so I cannot say either way. I went to the owner and never expected to have such a horrible final result. When I went back in the second time I said I just wanted her to add some white blonde highlights and more rose gold. She said she had her own plan so I trusted her, which apparently was a huge mistake. I wish I had never gone back a second time even though the rose gold had washed out, because at least it looked decent. She did a bleach bath on my head and never toned me. Then after I had asked her if she was going to add lowlights since she removed all the color from my hair, she said she could and tried charging me an extra $100. She also never filled my hair before adding the lowlights, so my hair turned green! When I told her that I had a problem paying the extra $100 for the lowlights, she argued with me that she did the same thing that she had done the first time so she wasn’t sure why I had a problem with it. The first time she used foils to highlight my hair, the second time she did the bleach bath. Luckily I took pictures of both the first and the second appointment so I could show her the difference. I’m sure you can see from the pictures that my hair was drastically different from her first attempt to the second. My hair was lemon yellow, green and light pink! I looked like an Easter egg! I have never been that upset over my hair not coming out the way I wanted! My fiance said that I looked like a cancer patient losing my hair. For him to say something like that, it must be really bad because he doesn’t usually care what I do with my hair as long as I am happy. On top of all of that, I had to make an emergency appointment someplace else to get it fixed, paying an additional $95. The woman who fixed it told me she couldn’t believe a salon owner would let somebody walk out of their salon looking like that! She kept commenting not only on how streaky it was, but the fact that it was green and lemon yellow. I know that the owner at Alter Image has done wonderful color jobs in the past, that’s why I went to her in the first place, but after my experience there I have been telling anybody and everybody in the area not to go there. Like I said previously, I am only referring to the owner, I don’t have any experience with the other stylists who work there. I’m not asking you to take my word for it, that’s why I’ve included pictures. I’m sure she will argue this review but I don’t know how you can defend the dye job that I was left with. You can try hiding it with curls all you want, but no amount of curls would make that color acceptable!
