I used to love dealing with this company when it come to all my son’s needs. He has spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy. We normally deal with a guy named Ben or Justin. And they’re wonderful! But the receptionist is rude and nasty every time I’ve talked to her at Opelika office. My son’s rehab doctors send over a prescription for elbow splints and thumb splints August 29th. Two weeks after August 29th my son had bronchitis. He is unable to swallow due to the spastic muscles tension in his mouth and throat. So he’s fed by feeding tube because he aspirate any fluid – saliva into his lungs. He’s on oxygen 24/7. I explain that to her she said okay call back when you can bring him. He developed an ear infection after he got over the Bronchitis and it caused him to brainstorm which is also another part of his neurological condition. He is medically fragile. So when he got back well enough for me to take him out in November I did. I took him there November, 3rd and they size and measured for the splints. I get a phone call a week later from her asking me why I haven’t brought my son for him to be measured for his splint with a nasty attitude. She needs to learn how to talk to people. I said I just brought him up there a week or so ago. Mind you the whole time she had an attitude. She calls me back a few weeks ago and tells me they’re ready for me to come pick up. I said okay I’ll come get them. I asked do I need to bring him because he’s medically fragile and I can’t just get him out and running around everywhere. She said yes you need to come get them. And then said hold on a minute got back on the phone said you have to bring him. All said is I’m not going to be able to bring him right now because it’s flu season and I was told by his pulmonary doctors that I cannot take him anywhere until flu seasons over. I was told by pulmonary doctors in Birmingham this. But so of course I’m not going to get my child out and risk him to getting any kind of influenza type viruses. Because his lungs are not healthy enough to survive a sickness like that. My son has had cerebral palsy for 10 years I know how to put a brace on him. Is there really a need that he needs to come that bad that I have to risk his health? They called today I didn’t even answer the phone. I’m currently going to get in touch with a doctor and see if we can’t find somewhere else to take him for his splint needs. Because every time I talk to her she has an attitude. I already have a lot on my plate. I have two children 1 in activities and one is for medically fragile. Plus have a full-time job! Being rude and nasty to people like you’re some type of bill collector trying to collect on a bill that 7 years old. Will ruin business in the future for this company!Set-down-and-be-humble……. Receptionist needs to learn how to talk to people correctly!
