As a locally owned business we are loyal to the places we do business with and we tried to do so with Air Gas in Plattsburgh NY and found the manger tobe rude, condescending and arrogant.We have been doing business with them or their predecessor Merriam Graves for over 20 years and have been very happy with their service. This week we went to get a tank filled and to purchase supplies.The manager said our tank couldn’t be filled because it wasn’t certified. We told him we had just purchased the tank there 2 years ago and he said well that’s too bad for you isn’t it? He said we shouldn’t so cheap and just lease the tank and we wouldn’t have these issues.Yeah he said we were too cheap to lease , what great customer service . He said we could go lug our tank across town to a place that might certify it if it wasn’t too old , after we told him we had purchased it there 2 years earlier. Long story shorter we went to Haun, our tank was fine, and were treated like gold .They have supplies in stock (Air Gas used to but doesn’t anymore). So we got our tank filled, bought supplies and picked up a credit app in 20 minutes . We are proud new customers of Haun in Plattsburgh . We have friends and contractors who warned us that the manager there was arugumentative and rude but as I said we are loyal. They were correct, it was not in Air Gas’s interest to hire this man he is in no way an asset to their company .
