West Marine in Redding, CA is a pretty good store as long as you don’t need anything too specialized. The staff is always helpful and willing to look something up for you and order it if it’s not in stock. Since we are three hours from the coast don’t expect a lot of saltwater oriented gear, but the freshwater stuff is in good supply. Overall, worth the stop, especially if they are having a sale.

We went to West Marine to see about new boat seats. They don’t have the ones I needed in the store, but the service representative, Dillon, was so helpful with the information we needed to order from the website. How nice, thanks. What was especially good, was I found an Aqua lamp for my survival bag, and a great sun hat with 50+ UPF. Cool, literally.
