Memorial Day visit to this Vegetable Market should be a pleasant experience. My husband and I stoped to buy veggies for 2 ,some fruit, honey. We bought 4 tomatoes, potatoes, lettuce, asparagus,4 small oranges, onions etc. We came to counter to pay and the nightmare began. We noticed there were no prices on any vegetables boxes only on products like honey, regular drinks etc. The lady at the counter is looking up every item in a plastic catalog struggling with her math ,writing single digit numbers on dirty papers ….. what was worth $45 dollars including $20 jar of hunny became $117 dollars . Now she wants cash only to which I responded I dont have cash. To which she said “ You can pay with VENMO “ To make a story short we came home questioning what are they thinking. They demand cash, no prices, no recipe, no cash register no computer . Gauging is the game .I called them upon returning home. Got the owner on the phone, Terry was her name ,she asked me to take a picture of all items. I did sent it to her. To which she responded “ where are the tomatoes ?” Tomatoes were on the picture. She said she will issue a credit , I never heard from her and no credit for the gauged amount was issued.Fair business practices in that establishment are none existent. Will report to BBB for Malibu and California.
