What a happy accident it was for me to find my way to Alexa at Village Vanity. I’m between hair stylists at the moment, and while visiting family in the area, I was out shopping and running errands when I noticed that this village is full of hair salons. Alexa was not the first salon I inquired with, but she was the first to express herself confidently—but not arrogantly—and tell me that she felt she knew what I wanted (lots of layers and fringe) and could do it.I trusted her because of her demeanor, and I’m so glad I did. When I got there for my appointment, there was no waiting—always a positive thing when I realize a professional is running a business. First, Alexa had me sit for a “hair chat,” as she called it, and she asked me a number of questions including whether or not I liked my last cut. No one has ever asked me that before, and I thought it showed insight and interest.I have longish hair that takes me over an hour to wash, dry and style my hair. Alexa had my hair washed by an assistant, then cut, dried and styled in less than an hour. Amazing! It’s a terrific cut, one that I’d notice on someone else (and perhaps even ask for a referral). I’m delighted.Bonuses: Alexa is a gun, witty lady to chat with, making this a pleasant experience; and the whole thing was only $60–that’s cheap even in my part of the world.I’m hoping I’ll be able to time visits in the future to this area so that I can stop in for an expert haircut at Village Vanity with Alexa. If you live in this area, I envy you your access to a skilled, talented professional. She’s a real treasure!
