This wasn’t the best experience today at this location. I received permission to look at the phones, so I did. A few more minutes later a male (African American) worker came up to me and told me not to touch the phones due to COVID. I understand we all need/want to be safe but I feel as if the phones can be cleaned after each use. If I’m purchasing a new phone I need to hold it and get a ‘feel’ of it. I think most people do this. There also wasn’t any signage to not touch the devices. I didn’t make a big deal I just decided to leave. As I was leaving another (Caucasian) worker stopped me at the door and asked, Who are you with?! I’m a grown, African American man that does not need to be asked this question. She didn’t ask anyone else this, which makes me think it’s about race. I feel as if I was profiled because that’s highly unusual for a worker to do (unless they’re watching the customer).
