Two stars instead of one because they were at least available to answer my questions but weren’t knowledgeable about anything associated with international shipping. I needed to send some biological samples to Croatia. When I arrived to drop off the package, I gave them the shipping label and asked if I needed any other document….they said no. The shipment was delayed in Philadelphia a day later because I needed to attach a commercial invoice. I called in again to the Potsdam distribution center asking them about how I needed to proceed; couldn’t give me an answer. They gave me a phone number for the UPS customer service….spent an entire day trying to resolve this issue only to realize that the number was specifically for DOMESTIC not international shipping questions. The person at the Distribution Center admitted that they did not know anything about international shipments. If I’m spending more that $300 in shipping costs, I expect a certain level of knowledge or customer service that will at the very least point me in the right direction if they can’t resolve the issue themselves. Never again.

They were able to answer my questions but after telling me yes to my shipment, it got turned around and I couldn’t do my shipment anymore. A huge disappointment.

Customer Center? What a joke. I went there because they kept delivering my packages to the house next door. (We have a house with a 1/2 street address, like many houses in Potsdam.) Nobody was at the service desk, so I waited a while. When nobody showed up, I went to an office that said employees only and asked a guy if anybody worked there. His answer was nope. He did yell out that there was a customer, and somebody did come over to try to help me. The problem is that their system cannot handle 1/2 numbers and their scanner automatically puts a new label on the package without the 1/2. He tried to get the scanner to print out the correct address, but couldn’t do it. So, if you have an address with a 1/2 number, tell your neighbors about this problem. It’s pretty clear that UPS doesn’t care enough to take care of it.
