Mike Michalak and his partner Brad Jackson opened The Fly Shop® in 1978. After their modest start Brad left the business in 1987 to move into the world of stocks and bonds. With a little help from the bank and a lot of hard work, The Fly Shop® is proudly celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

I don’t know what I was expecting. I’ve been to some really well stocked fly shops. This shop serves a purpose of supplying out of towners and clients with flies they need, terminal tackle, and whatever simms clothing you might be yearning for. I’m a sucker for a fly shop that’s got a great selection of tying supplies, this place is not that.
