I’ve lived in Calif. my whole life and didn’t know about this place. Cave Store, is a century-old bootlegger’s tunnel and leads through the sandstone cliffs of La Jolla Cove into Sunny Jim’s sea cave. Tours are self-guided, and approximately 15 minutes in duration which is enough time. There is also a gift store for suviniours with historical information on the walls. There is NO handicap entrance to the cave or to get into the store due to it being a historical building. Caution, the stairs to the cave are steep and slippery. There is currently heavy construction going on in front of the Cave store right now but can still go in. COVID safety is in place.

Interesting cave! It’s a must see if your in town. Steps are narrow walking down and walking up especially if you are a tall person.

Eclectic and unique store. The walk down to the cave is short but also really nice. Interesting to know this was a place where bootleg prohibition activities happened. You can take some time at the end of the cave taking in the sights. We saw a seal chilling on the rocks. The wait time was about 45 mins because of restrictions relayed to number of people who can go in at the same time but was well worth it.
