Our families have successfully used Tate’s Shoe Service for decades. This wonderful little shop is a true throwback to the days of single-owner shops. This long narrow shop smells of old leather and machine oil. The owner knows his business extremely well. He always gives me accurate return dates and the shoes are always ready. The repair jobs are miraculous at times. He is a dear man and will chat a little if he has time, but most of the time he is very busy. If he EVER retires I don’t know who will take over the shop, but I know if it closes Santa Rosa has lost an enduring tradition. Drop in and say hello and see a little bit of history.
