The big news in South Brooklyn is the opening of a Target store at the former location of Toys R Us at the Caesar’s Bay Outdoor Mall. I visited this Target on the first day of it’s soft opening. The official opening will be on March 14, 2021. This Target is HUGE with an escalator that will carry shoppers and their shopping carts to a second floor. The location has a Starbucks and CVS Pharmacy inside. It also includes a supermarket with fresh produce and many refrigerated food options as well. It has a well-stocked camping section that appeals to people like me who like the outdoors. Additionally, there are two aisles of greeting cards near the main entrance. One of the other details I liked was the presence of receptacles at the entrance for reyclables that included a bin for plastic bags and plastic film. While I like the huge variety and organized presentation of all of it’s products, Target adheres to the plastic bag ban only where it is the law like in New York City. I will not give any Target five stars until the Corporation decides to stop using plastic bags in all of its locations throughout the United States. It seems like the corporate bigwigs at Target still don’t care enough about the environment to address this issue. And this matters since Target as a nationwide chain has the power to either ban plastic bags from all of it’s stores, or to continue with their proliferation. Their lack of action on this will only continue to have a negative impact on the environment. Target can do better in this one area if only enough of its customers put pressure on Target to change this backwards policy.

First time in this store and I can tell this store was well needed in this community. Located in the Crospey Waterfront and Cesar Bay Mall it very convenient by taking the B6 bus or driving your car. I love this target which is located in the heart of Brooklyn. The store has a wonderful selection with good prices, excellent products, and wonderful staff but they lack certain items than other Target’s. The store has two elevators and escalators that take you up to the second floor. The store is average size but need more items in the store. I would recommend this store to anyone look for a good selection at good price.
