Last October my wife and I walked into the store on J st to sign up for a basic service plan with a promotional free phone. Duane, the store manager, was very friendly and professional as he assisted us, he listened to what we wanted and showed us the options of free phones with promotion. We thought this is simple and left feeling great. However, a series of problems followed us for months. Instead of the package we requested, he signed us up for a lease program. It was a complete surprise to discover our two free phones were on monthly leases. We didn’t even know T-mobile had a lease program until we saw it on our second billing cycle.Of course we reached out to Duane to correct the problem. Duane promised to follow up with the regional manager and get back to us. As you may expect, I did not received a call or email, nor did he return any of my calls or respond to my emails. This was two months of attempts to communicate with Duane, ZERO RESPONSE. At the same time, I started working with the T-mobile support, Duane ignored their multiple messagesas well. Eventually, the problem was resolved through T-mobile customer service. Duane wasn’t going to correct the problem, they decided to issue credit to cover the cost of lease of the phones.Please proceed with caution. If you are signing up for a plan, I highly recommend double checking your written contract prior to leaving the store. What I thought was a simple and straightforward purchase, instead resulted in months of phone calls with customers service.
