I contacted Surfriders Academy a few weeks before coming out to California , and was contacted by Marcus about the days and times available. He was punctual and easy to work with. Our surf instructor was Zach and he had my son standing up from wave number one, and I kept working on my own time to get the pop down. Zach was awesome and my son and I both had an amazing time with him! I can’t recommend these guys enough and if you ever doubted the ability to surf, these guys will help you make it a reality! My son and I are hooked and will be back soon.

My husband and I did a private lesson with Marcus in February. Lesson included wetsuits, boards, on land training and on the water. We have never surfed before in our lives and were a bit skeptical of our abilities before we started. Marcus was an amazing coach and both of us by the end were able to stand up fully on our boards. He’s extremely patient and is great at mentoring you through the waves. Always has super helpful feed back to help you with your next attempt. We Would highly recommend this surf school and Marcus as an instructor!!
