We’re from VA and headed into Sub Zero when we passed it in Carlsbad. A man was ordering in front of us and as soon as the guy helping all of us out was tossing the cream with liquid nitrogen the guy was like, “It’s not ice cream?” And walked out. So rude. The guy handled it well and offered it to us for free. And because of that we ordered 2 more ice cream cups.Great customer service and delicious made-to-order ice cream.

It was really neat watching them make the frozen treats

I really wanted to like this place. Great location, and staff was nice.Quality – 2. Tried an ice cream and a custard and kept switching back and forth deciding which one I liked less. The consistency was hard and crumbly/rigid, not creamy, consistent or smooth (if that makes sense). I don’t mean like a frozen yogurt, I mean compared to other ice creams. It seemed as if it was old or fake-which probably the latter since that place gets a ton of traffic. There was really not much flavor at all, despite the complexity of the contents.Chose 2 things off the Sensations menu thinking they would set me up for success including the chocolate conduction (1) and Bernoulli Brûlée (3). Did waffle for one also. I don’t think they steered me in the right direction, as they said they were both very “popular.”It’s not just my opinion, my sugar/dessert lover bf also thought they were both horrible. We actually stopped eating because of taste not because we were full. Might be a first time ever for dessert.
