First time ever visiting the Statue of Liberty and it was absolutely amazing, everything I thought it would be! Once you take the ferry and end up on the island the anticipation of walking around to the front of her to capture that perfect picture is such a great moment! There wasn’t very many people there which was nice because it wasn’t crowded so we were able to get all kinds of pictures! We were there on the trip with my son senior class so we didn’t try to go up inside of it or anything, I’m not even sure that it was open. After viewing the beautiful Liberty we went into the gift shop and spent about $300 and souvenirs, first time there so we wanted to make sure that everybody got a little piece of memory! After we were done in the gift shop we went into the cafe and ordered some lunch I had the cheeseburger and fries and my husband had the chicken strips and Fries. The chicken strips were by far the best chicken strips ever and definitely better than the cheeseburger. My cheeseburger was kind of cold and I wasn’t a huge fan of it but the fries were great. I highly do suggest getting the chicken strips though if you end up eating here! Taking the ferry to and from was just as fun, the sun was setting and it was just absolutely beautiful and perfect! Definitely would return here again!

View of Statue of Liberty from the Ferry It is less than thirty minutes in each direction to ride the Staten Island Ferry that is totally free and you can enjoy the view of Liberty Statue. While gliding along at a nice pace you can enjoy views of Ellis Island, Governor’s Island, The Brooklyn Skyline. As you depart Manhattan you will see the Hudson River and East River meet at NY Harbor. Looking up the East River while leaving Manhattan you will see the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge. It is an extraordinary experience for no cost. If you start in Manhattan you can simply take the next boat departing Staten Island. There are a number of museums and attractions at Snug Harbor, Historic Richmond Town. Take some time to explore the quiet borough of NYC.

We have been here several times. I wish there were more signs to be able to find the names of my family that posted there. my husband was in a hurry the first time so we did not get to sped much time exploring, when we went back again we were able to go inside the statue and see the vast amount of things inside. It was fascinating to know that my ancestors walked the same path. It hard to imagine having all of your belongings in a suite case and having to wait for you to be approved to see your loved ones waiting for you. I still need to go back one more time to visit and get a copy of my families names. I could not find a person to ask or I’m sure I would have it. We had such a great time. The skyline is beautiful.
