We wanted to paddle around Saranac Lake and found St. Regis via Google. The staff were incredibly helpful, with great trip suggestions. They recommended the Raquette River, which was fun and pretty easy. I was worried about putting a canoe on our ’01 Accord. But the staff, again, were helpful and reassuring. It was easy for us to put the canoe back on our car for the return trip. Also, the prices were quite reasonable. Highly recommend!

Broke my ankle a month ago downstate and it has given me time to relive my adventures in the Adirondacks digitally. I’m thrilled to see St. Regis still in business—we (my family and I) rented a canoe in 2010 and paddled right from their HQ in downtown Saranac Lake north on the river to the Moose Pond footbridge takeout point. There were beautiful views all along the way. Saw two beavers, trout jumping, and several big beaver lodges. My daughter, then 5 and my mini Schnauzer 7 then were with my wife and I. I’m a year round sea kayaker and paddle boarder in NYC and own three folding sea kayaks with all the necessary gear. I had none of it on our trip but talked my family into the paddle and the guys were great, professional, friendly and most importantly on time for pickup. A fond memory.

Best canoe outfitter around this region. Great store, friendly & knowledgeable staff. We’ve been renting from them since 2012 and they always deliver!
