Had the cashier not been so timid and stressed out I would have said something, but if you are requiring and/or allowing your employees to wear gloves you need to spend the time and money on the proper training on how to use them. Because of Starbucks wearing gloves that is how my Aunt contracted Covid. I could truly CARE LESS about Covid but its frustrating to watch people use them with pure ignorance! The cashier was wearing them as I walked up and touched everything the people in front of me had. Not only did he touch their items from their cart but he also touched every surface at his station with them. That contaminates EVERYTHING. The material of those gloves pick up double+ the amount of germs he would have on his hands if he were just using a sanitizer on them. He also did not sanitize his station (every surface) afterward, he did not wash his hands and change his gloves afterward, he just continued on to my items and even on to the person behind me after I cashed out. Do y’all see how this works when wearing gloves? After EVERY item he touches he needs to wash his hands and put on a new pair of gloves, and he needs to sanitize EVERY surfaces after every customer or after every item touches that surface. The amount of time that would take to check people out, if done correctly would be completely absurd. Gloves are a SINGLE ONE TIME use that involves a LOT of hand washing…..
