Now, I’ve been coming here for years, I’ve bought all my firearms here and haven’t had bad experiences until now. Ever since the ammo shortage. Today was an exceptionally bad experience. I went in to get some personal defense ammo, an ammo clerk was getting ammo for someone and i asked if he’d be willing to get me some ammo after he was finished with this customer, all he did was glare at me in response and walk away and continued to carry on a conversation with the customer about getting his house appraised by that customer all the while standing with the ammo case open. An elderly associate asked me if I needed help after he was finished with his customer. I told him what I needed and he went to grab it, another associate who was with a customer loudly asked if I had ID. At first I thought he wasn’t talking to me because I was standing away from him with my associate, he again loudly asked if I had ID. I looked at him and told him of course I do. He proceeded to tell me I had a problem and needed to lose my attitude. I was taken aback, I said what?! He told me I needed my background done for the ammo which obviously I knew but was already being helped, but he said he was going to run my background so I took out my ID and CCW license and put them under his plastic divider, I didn’t want to invade the 6ft rule and he threw them across the counter out of spite then told everyone he didn’t want to sell ammo to me because I had an attitude. Long story short, the old man ended up completing my transaction which is what should’ve happened anyway without interjection from the rude associate. I think these folks need more comprehensive training in customer service, especially with how everything is now.

This is a great store for all your hunting and outdoor needs. The hunting department is well stocked,so much so I had no idea what to get my husband for a gift . I settled on a Turkey decoy because I have no idea what a beginning Hunter might need. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly.Love that they have snow boots, hiking shoes and boots for kids and adults. It’s so hard to find kids hiking shoes.I’m grateful they chose to come to Chico and open a store.
