This bakery/bistro is a diamond in the rough. Their pastries and breads look as good as they taste. I’ve had their strawberry rhubarb tart, yummmmmm. Their sandwiches are delicious. My favorite is the tuna melt, I often find myself dreaming of this sandwich, I live 2 hours away. The potato salad is one of the best, made with mustard and has a satisfying crunch, from celery, i think.

Hands down, a 5 star bistro for me and it has been a happening place since 1983.Located inside the Mission Inn Plaza, Simple Simon’s cooks up a palatable breakfast and ideal lunch dishes.Traditional breakfast from eggs, to chicken sausage, omelettes to bagels. And whatever you do, don’t skip their delicious, homemade whipped butter and house jelly.What’s for lunch? Their stars keep shining through with their healthy salad plates, soups, chili’s and specialty sandwiches. Superb vegetarian and vegan offerings are also available.Need more palate happiness? Try their fresh baked pastries and mini cakes.If you’ve never been here please don’t expect anything fancy but you won’t miss any of that foo foo stuff dining at Simple Simon’s.Stop by while walking around the Mission Inn, take a load off and enjoy dishes that are simply delectable.Take out is what’s accessible during this time. Everything is fresh! They are big on vegetables and the fresh bakery has crusty breads and baked goods to buy even if you are not eating there! Love the dark atmosphere indoors and the available outdoor patio dining on the boardwalk shopping area.
