A great mission located in the lush San Gabriel area. This one has a great garden and one of the few missions that still has those soap vats. You can still ring the bell too.The church is very popular for weddings.

Where do I begin? This mission is beautiful tons of history including with my indigenous ancestors. The ladies in the gift shop are very friendly and super sweet. Lots of relics and religious artifacts to look at and buy as well. Wish they had the painting of the last supper to be visible loved the whole fact that when the mission was burned the members of the painting that was only affected was Judas face which had been burned off fun fact*). Its located in the room with the paintings stored in the exhibit who ever goes and check it out. Very relaxing and peaceful. The older cathedral is a nice place to worship. The cemetery is open from the morning till dusk. I highly recommend this place to those who want to explore and see what life was like. Research research research

A beautiful, historic, and very well maintained Spanish mission. Mission San Gabriel Arcángel is the fourth of many missions in California and has been beautifully restored. Lots of of interpretive exhibits and historical markers. Easy parking. Very quiet, pleasant, and reverent. A very good mission in California.
