Enjoyed stopping and checking out the history behind this monument. Sam Houston was instrumental in the founding of Texas. This monument honors that tradition and is truly Texas sized! Beware of the mosquitoes in spring to fall. Also check out the gift shop neat things inside 🙂

Lots of interesting information at the visitor center, really neat gifts at the gift shop. The statue completely blew me away and the walk area was really nice. The ladies at the visitor center were really friendly and had a lot of great information
