I was pleased to find items for special diets that you normally don’t find easily. I was also pleased to see cashiers opened with few people in line. This was extremely convenient since I was in a hurry. The cashier was very attentive and cordial. When I arrived, there was someone ready to disinfect my shopping cart for me. Very, very, very good service.

I was there this passed week. Sunday morning 03/21/2021 to be exact. I was throwing a baby shower for my sister and was running behind. So just decided to go to Safeway because I know they usually have good fruit and baked goods. I had my 2 month old baby with me covered in her car seat so you could not see her. I had quite a few items with me an decided to go to self checkout because it wasn’t a line and again I was running behind. I was on the phone and noticed I was first being watched by the security guard. Then I heard on the loud speaker them call for a code 200 (or something like that) and another worker came and stood right by where I was checking out with the security guard. They pretended to have a convo but was really watching to see if I was stealing. At first I didn’t notice because I was on the phone but then the lady (worker) asked me if I needed help out which is when I put everything together. This was not my first time at the store but the first time something like that happened. I can’t even explain how that made me feel being profiled like that. I wanted to say something but I was in a rush, just had my grandmother’s funeral the day before and I just did not want to deal. But because of this, I will NEVER shop at this Safeway again!

Store is always clean. Staff is less and less friendly, and it’s getting incredibly risky to go the the Country Club location after dark. 20 year neighborhood customer, and I have started going to S-Mart on March after dark, even though it’s further away. SAD.
