I moved to Cortland after college and bounced around to several hair stylist in Cortland, always disappointed. Finally, I found Roots Hair Salon and decided to give it a try. I had a consultation with Desarae about my color options and she delivered everything I wanted. Every time I go, I leave feeling so good about myself. You can trust the quality and expertise of the stylists at this salon. They hold themselves to very high standards. I can’t say enough good things about them.

I was lucky enough to discover a trifecta of beauty while walking downtown Cortland last week and found myself in Roots Hair Salon. Firstly a beautifully restored historical building and cleanly designed/decorated salon interior is instantly calming and inviting. Secondly the owner Desarae (and her team of stylists – Kirsty and Stephanie) were super welcoming when I entered and talked about their great location and decor. Thirdly, the vast array of stylings, cuts, and colorings on their social media accounts are truly works of art.
