I normally don’t write reviews but I felt like I had to share because I was really disappointed. I asked Tammy about my date in September for a wedding cake and at the time the date was available. We had been going back and forth for a while in email and I had asked her about tasting kits. She only had one day available and it didn’t work for my work schedule. I then asked her when would be the best time for us to set a day to pick up the tasting kit? She didn’t reply back for months. And when she finally did it was to tell me my date wasn’t available anymore. So that was a bummer because when we talked months ago my date was available and what made it more upsetting was the fact that I follow her on Instagram. I see her constantly posting and she couldn’t get back to my email? It just feels really unprofessional and I won’t be coming back unfortunately.

We selected Room for Dessert after a disappointing wedding cake tasting with another local bakery. We were unfamiliar with Room for Dessert and could not have been more impressed and at ease after enjoying a lovely, delicious tasting with the owner. The cakes and buttercreams are delectable! We reserved the date immediately and she got to work on researching how to make a Geode Cake, a design we saw on Pinterest. The entire process was very easy and hassle-free. For a small number of our guests who have Celiac Disease or eat Gluten-Free, she was able to prepare a dozen cupcakes so we could cover everyone’s needs.

This was going to be a 5 star review, and then Tammy forgot about our wedding.Our wedding was pushed back a year due to Covid. We put down a deposit for a June 2021 wedding with Tammy in 2020. We didn’t hear back from her, so we contacted her with a general Are you still available to provide our cake for our wedding? email.We got a response that said she was busy that day, as she had made plans with her family. If we were a new customer, this would be totally understandable, but we were not. We had money down for a reserved date that she forgot about.I ended up posting a negative review about our terrible experience, and then she remembered about our wedding and said she could bake the cake. I apologized for the misunderstanding, took the negative reviews down from Yelp/Google and she replied to me by saying she was going to miss out on seeing her family to bake for our wedding and that I had emotionally caused her distress. She was essentially trying to place the blame on us for her scheduling mistake. I even let her know we supported her during Covid by coming to her pop-ups. We thought of her during the pandemic, but it is clear she did not think of us.In the end we went with another vendor. I’ve never had an experience like this and I hope I never will. I also hope we are the last couple she does this to. Extremly unprofessional.
