Rao’s Bakery was founded in 1941 by Johnny Rao. Johnny Rao and family opened the bakery at its present location, the corner of 10th and Calder in Beaumont, Texas. The bakery was known for its Italian cream cakes, cookies, and cream puffs. Through the years Rao’s had several different owners, but its doors never closed.

My favorite coffee shop. Oh how I wish this location was open on weekends. The other location offers the same coffee but greatly lacks the friendliness and kindness of these amazing Calder Rao’s employees. Their authentic care for the customers makes me want to visit just to have my day brightened by their hospitality! Big shoutout to Jett who always wears a smile and offers a compliment!

Excellent service and exceptional food. Their gumbo is life changing. We had the chicken Basil sandwich and the muffuletta. Both were excellent. The chips were unnecessary, the food is very filling and delicious. We had to go back and get some treats to take home. This will definitely be our place to stop when driving through Beaumont.
