Since the pandemic started, we visited the Ralph’s in Costa Mesa, CA, to take advantage of their curbside pick up service. We’re high risk, so it was appreciated. But last week, they loaded up our car trunk and then refused to close the trunk. We were parked in the curbside pickup spot right by the front entry to the store — where, only moments before, two people not wearing masks had just walked by our car. We could not get out of the car to close the trunk. We asked to see the mgr who said it was their new policy. WHY DIDN’T THEY INFORM US OF THIS WHEN WE PLACED THE ORDER? So we had to back up in a busy parking lot without being able to see, because the trunk was wide open and blocked our view. We reported this unsafe change (and lack of warning) to Ralphs/Kroger. They have not responded. What had been good customer service was destroyed in a day. DO NOT SHOP AT RALPHS COSTA MESA IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE. AND DON’T COUNT ON THE CORP. TO FIX IT OR EVEN RESPOND.
