the homeless encampment on the north sidewalk is getting out of hand. nice flower selection. produce section is tough to navigate as the aisles are small, however nicely placed and pretty fresh. ample parking and a patrolling private security.

This is definitely one of my favorite Ralph’s supermarkets. They are located in Granada hills next to Granada Hills charter high school right in the main plaza also next to Chase Bank Del taco and they also have a Starbucks inside and Wells Fargo as well is inside as well. To stop at Wells Fargo were always very helpful and inside the store some of the people there go over and beyond to make sure that you can find the products and things that you are needing. They have a huge parking space which is really nice some stores you go to for example in North Hollywood you can’t even park but here at this Ralphs they have lots of parking space and they also have lots of options for organic food options and they are one of the stores that stays open later. Many stores in the area close around 11 but I believe this Ralph’s now closes at 12 and at one point I think they even were 24 hours this is all before Covid.

Prices are competitive with Vons & others. Interestingly some items are a buck or two more while others are 1 or 2 dollahs less. This location has a pretty good day old bakery & WooHoo section & like the rest it’s hit or miss. You never know. Encino and Woodland Hills are a notch up but prices in general are higher. Location, location, location. They lost a star because one day I had to pay with bills and one roll of pennies. The MaNaGeR weighed the roll & said it was light. I mentioned the newer pennies had more zinc & less copper (for years now) & were lighter than the older ones. He said he’d been doing this for 20 years and they should weigh x units. How a MANAGER didn’t understand this basic concept is beyond me.At home I weighed a roll of each & the newer ones were of course significantly lighter. He decided my machine rolled pennies (the ends are rolled & sealed & not just folded over) that came from a $25 box were 4 cents short because of the weight. The length he didn’t even check which would confirm they were all there. And this guy who was the only checker, literally killed at least 10 minutes to incorrectly decide my roll was 4c short. When he began his quest there were 3 or 4 people behind me who were sorely inconvenienced over 4cents. So i gave him an extra 4c & left flabbergastingly (Ooooh, good one) stunned.
