Needed to place an order over the phone for a design client bc items were no longer available online. Was happy to hear they were in stock at that location but when I explained i was a trade member they informed me they wouldn’t accept my trade discount over the phone. Our design client’s property was over an hour away and it was a major inconvenience so we went to the so our client could receive the discount as promised. We were then told they wouldn’t accept our credit card authorization so we had to make purchases using our card and bill the client separately. Wouldn’t have been such a big deal hadn’t the staff been very rude. We were actually shocked that they were so unaccommodating and rigid being that we place orders daily with similar major retailers. They also made a mistake with pairing wrong side lamp shades with lamps but were insistent they were correct. We love being in Pottery Barn’s trade program, but will continue making purchases online. In fact, we were told by one of the employees at this location, “we were better off making purchases ourselves online”. And on the way out the door we were told by the manager in a sly way, “good luck with our jobs”. I guess we expect more from professionals in the same field as us. And we definitely expect more from a design professional who claims she’s been a Pottery Barn manger for 14 years. This location is definitely lacking customer service. Makes us wonder how helpful they actually are for consumers.

Pottery Barn in Huntington provides the worst possible customer service and they don’t care at all about customers! I ordered a sectional from Mary Ellen-after it took 4 hours to write up a simple order-it came in with wrong configuration and with a black stain! Nancy and Harriet who claim to be managers said they would help me. Harriet turned me over to a girl named Robin-who she said was the best. I drove out there and met with Robin-who said she would reorder the sectional with correct configuration! After 3 weeks-I called and emailed Robin to get a status update on the order. She emailed me to call customer service and she never ordered it! She said she was helping a guest and told someone to tell me she couldn’t come to the phone!! They just pass the buck and are the worst to deal with!! Don’t you think that Harriet or Robin could have had the professionalism and decency to let me know that they never placed this order? Too much trouble I guess!! Glad I would never treat a customer like that!!

Terrible experience. Went in to possibly furnish a New home and start a registry. The short, elderly blonde woman there was helping another customer. I was waiting patiently to at least be acknowledged and to ask if I should wait or if they would be a while. She walked away from the customers she was helping to check something in the back and I said very politely “excuse me” (just so I could ask if she was going to be a lot longer and if I should wait) but before I could, she cut me off and said with an attitude “I’m not finished with them.” This turned me off from pottery barn and will be going elsewhere.
