I’ve adopted two wonderful cats and fostered one very sweet kitten this year with the Potsdam Humane Society. The measures taken amidst the COVID-19 pandemic have been greatly appreciated. The application is thorough to make sure the kind of pet you want to take home will be a good fit, and for those living rentals they check with the landlord that the tenant is approved to have a pet. That way they don’t send a pet home with someone that will end up coming back when the landlord tells them they cant have it or worse the poor animal just let loose to the wild. They make sure all pets are fixed before adoption and microchipped to help find them should they get away from home. The new cat room and catio is great! One large room for all the cats really lets you see how they interact with other cats and you can meet them all at the same time. The adoption fees are very reasonable for all the medical procedures they do for your pet prior to adoption. The staff are very helpful in helping you find a pet that meets your home situation and lifestyle. I highly recommend the Potsdam Humane Society for anyone with a good home for pets to consider adopting from here.

What’s not to love about this place. You can go in and see all the animals. The staff is very welcoming and friendly and if you have any questions about adopting or anything else they have no problems helping out
