If anyone were to ask what has been the secret to the long lasting success of Pedigree Ski Shop, the answer would be a family mentality. In 1962, Pedigree Ski Shop was born out of the dreams and inspirations of John Fuerst and his wife, Jay, to turn their beloved sport of skiing into a profession. In fact, Pedigree has become so successful that it has grown into four equally outstanding stores. Pedigree’s employees share a genuine love and enthusiasm for these active outdoor sports, and are more than eager to pass on their knowledge about these sports to their customers.

This is solely based off of the customer service I received at this spot. The shop itself has good equipment, a bit pricey and the younger folk are nice and knowledgeable. Back to why I’m here. I have rented, got boots, bought snowboards from the 44 Board Shop never had a problem until TODAY. 44 Board was currently closed due to season ending. But Pedigree was open. I called ahead of time asking If I could come in to try on a Salomon snowboard boot. They told me Sure come on in and we can walk you across to the board shop to try the boot on. So I go in. Ask a nice younger lady if someone could help me, I’d like to try on a Salomon snowboard boot. Then she proceeds to get the older guy Dave who I actually think is the owner and or manager of these places! Now this is where the problem BEGINS. I told Dave I was looking to get this specific boot online but I don’t know the correct size I need and don’t want to order the incorrect one because different brands fit me differently so I came in to try on a Salomon boot to get the correct size. So he sizes my foot up, tells me what size I am on the Brannock tool (foot measurement device.) Talk a little bit, then I say well I’d still like to try the Salomon boot on to get the right idea of the exact boot I need. He then says Oh if you aren’t buying the boot here then you can’t try them on. I said If you guys carried this boot I would buy it from you, I came all this way and you cant just let me try a boot on? Dave starts telling me I am wrong in the situation I proceed to ask him Why, I literally came in to try a pair of boots on, I cant try a pair of boots on? Dave says to me You cannot. I get frustrated tell him that I have spent thousands of dollars with this shop and this is kind of ridiculous that I’m being treated this way. He then storms off and I proceed to ask him in confusion why I cant try a boot on? He keeps storming off in frustration away from me, I say can someone else help me then? He replies Yeah ill get someone else to help you. Proceeds to pull a young man that works there to the back and have a secret conversation with him. The younger man then proceeds to help me with the problem, greets me after a hectic situation, and brings me across the street to the 44 Board Shop, where we try on a Salomon boot and figure out the correct size I need. He was GREAT. Answered all my questions helped with everything I needed. I forgot his name otherwise I would have included it in this review. But the younger guys are great at this shop from what I have experienced. Dave could have completely avoided this situation. What did he want me to do walk in and LIE to him to try the boot on and make an excuse up then leave? I was honest, and I guess that is how you are treated for being honest.
