The New York Aquarium is the oldest continually operating aquarium in the United States, having opened in Castle Garden in Battery Park, Manhattan in 1896. Since 1957, it has been located on the Riegelmann Boardwalk in Coney Island, Brooklyn. The aquarium is operated by the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) as part of its integrated system of four zoos and one aquarium, most notably the Bronx Zoo. It is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Please note: last entry to the aquarium is one hour prior to park closing.

I visited this place from the Bronx which is a pretty long ride on the train but worth it!! Not so crowded for the 10 am slot on a Tuesday, once I was done around 1130 it was slightly crowded but all good. Majority of the exhibits were open which was awesome. The 4D shark theater was GREAT as well. I have it 4 stars during to sea lion show canceled and the gift store staff no being engaging or welcoming AT ALL!! Overall, I mean it’s only sea creatures but can’t knock it til you try it!

Great Day out with the Family. Staff was helpful. I only wish there was more to see. Some of the exhibits and restaurants are not yet open. I would definitely go again. My little one enjoyed it and didn’t want to leave. I liked the gift shop, great items to buy.
