Pretty interesting local history science exhibits and art. Great lottle gift store with local faire and books.

Enjoyable place to spend some time, but perhaps a bit pricey for its size.
Daniel Hatfield
Small, but still quite a bit of stuff to see.

It was great seeing the native Alaskan animals specimens up close. Otto the giant brown bear is a great photo opportunity. The art exhibit upstairs is stunning, but I wish there was more info about individual pieces. All around phenomenal little museum to help you learn about Alaska.

*Free parking on the weekendThe museum was very educational as it dove into the history of both native persons and animals to the region. Additionally, there was a significant amount of history on the colonization of Alaska to include the transfer of it’s land between multiple countries up to the point it became a recognized state. Upstairs there were a few local art exhibits worth looking at. In addition to it’s exhibits, this museum has quite a few interactive pieces, educational documentaries, and areas to sit making it accommodating to visitors of all ages. The museum has enough historical pieces to spend multiple hours here, but if you’re not interested in taking that long it’s very insightful after a short walkthrough as well.

A beautiful location with a great view of the mountains and a great design on the pathway up to the entrance. We even saw a moose down the hill! There is a great display inside the museum. Right now there is a bit of construction going on in the front so unfortunately you can’t get the best view of the mountains from the inside, but there are still a couple great spots to look out. Plus you can always walk outside!
