When I was shopping for wedding bands I visited every jeweler in Anchorage along with some out of town and out of state, this was the one I really wanted to come back to. Mindy is a great help with figuring out what you want, she is also very honest about what to expect down the road without sugar coating the pros/cons. Dave is also a gem, no matter the occasion I would highly recommend at least talking to them but if your reading this do yourself a favor and go see them.

April 25th, 2021 my boyfriend proposed to me on top of the mountain at Alyeska Ski Resort in Girdwood, AK. My boyfriend purchased my dream ring from Michaels Jewelers a week prior. When my boyfriend got down on his knee to ask me to Marry him my ring was gone…. we had no idea how or when it could have fallen out. There was just no way at all… Sunday turned into a nightmare my ring was missing on the mountain at Alyeska & Monday was employee ski day only. Monday morning I called explained to the resort lady what happened and hoped she would let us find my ring ( we felt it was worth the shot even thought the possibilities were close to none ). While searching with a metal detector & shovel I called Mindy (Michaels Jewelers owner) on in tears explaining to her my beautiful ring was gone and what happened. Mindy asked us to re trace our steps, asked if it could have been anywhere else, she told me we would figure it out regardless and hoped and prayed we would find it. She said to call her asap with the out come. Not only was it just not possible to find it a day later & in several feet of snow the groomer had gone through and groomed the trail & at that point it could have just been anywhere. Mindy told us to keep looking and she had hope we would find it. Over two hours of searching and the metal detector started to go off after we had shaved off several snow layers….. my boyfriend got down and started hand digging and it was my RING!!!!! I could not believe it, I called Mindy asap to tell her she happened to be at the store on Monday(which they are not open on). She told me to bring it to her so she could look, the groomer did catch my ring and bent it we have no clue how it didn’t take the ring off with it… each diamond was still in it Mindy though said it needed to be examined by Simon & G the maker of it. Mindy sent it in 1-day air shipping to Simon G. I got a phone call a week later with the results of the damage done and the best new ever they could save my ring. I expected it to be a few weeks to get it back & Mindy called me within a week later with the news of my ring was HERE! What a crazy story of a proposal, Mindy & Dave were so kind and willing to help us out, had hope we would find the ring & made sure I was able to get my ring back to enjoy being engaged before we get married just a few months away. I cannot thank them both enough & I highly recommend anyone looking for a ring for their soulmate or even just Jewelry in general Michael’s Jewelers is the place to go! Mindy & Dave are the absolute best and CARE for their customers. I cannot thank them enough for my beautiful ring and the EXCELLENT customer service they provided us. BEST JEWELERS IN ALASKA
