I went in for a tire patch and ended up spending hundreds more and a week without a car.I brought by a 2017 Camaro with a puncture in the center one of the Michelin pilot sport 4s tires. Mavis fixed the hole while I waited but ended up putting a new hole in the sidewall by overstretching the tire on the machine when remounting the tire to the rim. Clearly their fault but no one wanted to take ownership in the mistake. After spending hours at their store they told they could put the same tire on the rim by that afternoon at a discount. I come back to pick it up and it’s a different tire mounted on the rim. I point this out and the person in charge tells me it’s just as good. I explain that since the other three tires were brand new that I was unwilling to mismatch the set on there. After trying to sell it to me at an even bigger discount, and another hour and a half at the store, I leave the vehicle there and order the correct tire myself.A week goes by and the tire is finally delivered and installed on the vehicle. I go to pick it up and no other mention of the incident is made and I am given the keys. It isn’t until I get it away from the shop that I notice the fender on the side the tire was mounted on is damaged. Knowing Mavis and their willingness to deny all accountability, I get an estimate from a body shop for the repair. The first thing the estimator ask is if I had removed that rim recently and not used the jacking point.We all make mistakes but it’s how you handle them that matters. This is a great example of the wrong way.
