We have lived here for one year now and I absolutely love everything and everybody on this base. It has a great Bowling alley with great prices. The commissary a small but has everything you possibly need. The Route 66 cafe has great breakfast and lunch specials. They have daily activities for the children and parents to do like art work, movies, and other fun activities to keep you occupied and have fun quality time. The gym has spin classes and self defense classes that you can take along with all of the exercise equipment you can use.

This place is the best. The staff is so nice and helpful. The commissary has everything I need and great prices. The mini mart is right behind for other great items. The bowling alley has special prices on different days and Jerry is so, so sweet. They have a big gym and large pool in the summer.Small place, but full of anything you need.

I was stationed here from 1996 to 1997 as an MP. Can’t say I was a fan of the desert or this base. At the time I was there, they had the highest rate of suicide in the whole military at that base. In fact the night before I discharged, a guy hung himself with his web belt tied to his wall locker. Something about this base or the desert can make you depressed easily. I know I was slipping into depression before I left. Not much to do in this town, so I usually spent my time off in LA record shopping or sight seeing. Vegas, Tijuana are not too far off which some of the guys would go to a lot. I avoided those places due to the stories I would hear after they would come back broke or worse. I thought this base was closed, but it doesn’t look like it. It’s a supplies base, mostly vehicles parked. Hoo ra
