Their selection was great and the prices beats Amazon for some of the cards.

I’ve been going to Hatter’s for a few years now. The staff is kind and knowledgeable and I often see them even playing games with other customers when the shop isn’t too busy. It creates a wonderfully inviting environment. There’s tons of places to sit and play games with a friend or large group without feeling like you’re in the way of other customers. They’ve somewhat recently started filling out a side room with more product, making an already big store seem giant. Even being a longtime patron, I’m in awe almost every time I go and always find something new. If I have trouble finding something, staff is always happy to help or make recommendations. It’s not unusual for customers to spend hours here; pre-pandemic, I’d come nearly every weekend for 5-6 hours at a time just to play cards or work on something for a TTRPG. It’s rarely too noisy to get into the zone and just work on stuff and staff has never made us feel bad for not buying anything. They’ll even come over and chat with us about what we’re working on and seem very genuine. The inviting atmosphere even encourages other patrons to come around and start chatting. This really is an amazing place to come by yourself, with friends and to make friends. I’m looking forward to many more years of patronage and much more frequent trips once vaccinations are widespread.

I’ve only been there twice on my visit to Lubbock, but I felt like I had been going there for years. Their selection was great and the prices beats Amazon for some of the cards. Worth driving 9 hrs for another trip!

This is a huge board game store with a bunch of games and activities they host every week. For example, I believe every Wednesday they host a DND night and everyone is welcome to join. I do feel that the prices of the games are a little high though when compared to many online retailers.
